Propane heaters make great portable heaters, if used carefully and according to instructions. They’re great to use in the home, especially if you’re just needing to heat up a room that doesn’t have central heating for example, and they’re also very useful items to use at fishing lodges, in the garage or workshop, or even to heat up a tent when camping. They are also well designed to operate safely in moist greenhouse environments

Small portable propane heaters are often cheaper to run than the same sized or same output electric ones, which makes them a fairly popular all-round heater to use. They have the added ability of being able to operate even when there is no electricity, which is a plus especially if in a situation where the electricity is unstable or tends to go off from time to time.

You can buy propane heaters specifically designed to fit into a garage. These units look a bit like the older window airconditioning units. They can fit in either a top window or just attach to the wall. The plus with these is that they’re up and out of the way, leaving you with optimum work space and a well heated environment.

Propane patio heaters

One of the favourite uses for this type of heater is to use it outside on the patio, for outdoor heating. Propane patio heaters can be moved around to any location. Heat generated from the mushroom style head usually flows downward in a type of circular motion, heating the air all around them. You do need to sit fairly close to them to feel their warmth but if you sit too close you might find yourself uncomfortably hot as they work very well at close range.

They are not to be used in a small, closed space though as they give off dangerous carbon monoxide fumes which can be lethal. So, if you’re planning on using a propane gas heater make sure that the room is well ventilated before turning the heater on.

                                                             Gas Heaters For Outdoor Use

Most gas fired tankless heaters require a special, triple wall flue pipe, that could easily cost more than the heater itself.

We generally leave the water heater on when we are encamped…it’s just more convenient for us…and we figure we don’t use any more propane gas to keep the water hot than we would if we turned it on just when we wanted hot water.

But, most popular way and cheapest solution is the use of propane gas as a fuel. For a long time, people saw propane heaters as a way to heat up their meals and nothing else.
